AI Content Policy
How we label AI-generated assets, and what that means for you.
Last updated: [DATE] · Version 0.1 (draft)
Much of this library is AI generated
A large part of the FotoLoot catalogue is created with generative AI rather than captured with a camera. Every such asset carries an AI generated label on its card and on its detail page, and Browse can be filtered to show only AI-generated assets, or only photographs.
What that means
- The people are not real. Faces in AI-generated assets are synthetic. They do not depict real, identifiable individuals, and no model release exists or is needed.
- The places and events are not real. Do not present an AI-generated asset as evidence of an actual person, place or event.
- Not for news reporting. AI-generated assets must not be used to illustrate real news events as though they were photographs of them.
Labelling and disclosure
We label AI-generated assets in the interface and, where technically possible, keep provenance information in the file. India's IT Rules require intermediaries to label synthetically generated information clearly. Where you republish our assets, you remain responsible for any disclosure your own platform or regulator requires. [CONFIRM PROVENANCE METADATA APPROACH]
Copyright of AI-generated assets
The legal position on copyright in purely AI-generated works is unsettled in India and elsewhere. We licence you the right to use these assets as described on the Licensing page. We do not claim, and do not grant, exclusive copyright ownership in an AI-generated asset: an "exclusive" licence means only that we stop selling it to others. [CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL]
Reporting a problem
If you believe an asset resembles a real person, infringes a trademark or copyright work, or is otherwise inappropriate, write to [SUPPORT EMAIL] quoting the Asset ID shown on its page. We review reports and remove assets where warranted.
